Very high quality construction! It's solid wood, and really pretty. The pieces store in the board, which is very nice. It's on the small side for a go board, which makes it very portable.

We purchased this kit to keep us busy in isolation. It has definitely done the trick. Although a little pricey for the quality (the quality itself is not the best) it is sturdy and kid friendly. I have four kids, ages four through 13, and they are not generally gentle with games. So far we’ve had the game for a week and it has withstood them. I did have to file down a spot on one of the chess pieces that was making it stand off-center. The construction of the boards themselves is very sturdy, and although I probably could have put together the dice and cards and dominoes for less, having it all in one place for one price was pretty handy. If you are looking for a high-quality set of boards, this probably isn’t it. But if you were looking for something that will withstand daily use from multiple kids, I definitely recommend.

If you want a portable, compact, wooden chess set, this may be the only one you find on Amazon—luckily it’s a high-quality product. Both board and pieces are wooden and the magnets are strong enough to get the job done holding the pieces in place. The board does not fold, which is an aesthetic plus, as far as I’m concerned; this set was not designed for travel with a game in progress. Perhaps best of all, each player has a pull-out drawer for general storage and for keeping captured pieces in tow. The 10-inch size is perfect for seeing the game without taking up too much space on your desk, your tabletop, or whatever limited space you may be using. The only way I can see that this set could be improved is if it included extra queens for promotion, but that’s a minor issue. If the 10-inch dimensions meet your needs, don’t hesitate to buy this set.

Nice wooden game board that contains all the pieces

Would have been a nice board if not the deffective edges right out the box. Returned once for a replacement a was sent another one with similar issues. Unfortunately missed the return window. After my review above the seller came back to me and offered to fully refund my purchase. I appreciate the gesture and am adding some stars.
